Its 17/11/2010, my brother is 9yrs and he can't read . Its not entirely his fault, nor mine. Circumstsnaces didnt permit a lot of things.
Now, I had to teach him reading and I realized I knew nothing about readin, I was amiss as at how I came about reading and saying all the words.
So I find a way to learn the sounds..basic phonetics...they termed it; aa. b3, ck3, d3 .......
Thinking about it right now, we have an enormous task as educators, not to only know what it is we are impacting to our students but to also be able to tell them why they are supposed to know it.
Teaching my kid brother the phonetics, I had to open his mind to the fact there was more to what he was learning , that after learning it will work some sort of magic which will enable him read.
Magic?, he asked and I said yes, magic which will enable him to read anything and the magic was that he would understand why a combination of a couple of alphabets should be pronounced the way they are pronounced.

This is the feeling I have always had towards my true teachers, who have impacted me, and I wish to express it
Every being walks in the light of the ideas he's heard over and over again.
I look at my teacher and I see light
His words I ponder over day and night
I look around and I see no bright shinning star I want to be.
He commands every idea I ever knew
He opened my mind to his understanding
The shapes of phrenology-he sculptures with his many stories.
What falls, what rises
He is all I want be like , he's who I want to be .
Years have gone by now and I sit here to reminisce, what impact they've made in my life.
Tremendous impact....and I cant seem to find the right words to keep up with this.
I am beginning to realize many things;
That there is an underlying thought to what I am now, and all what I will ever grow to be.
And my teacher formed this thought. I can’t point it out.
But I believe like me, every student has had a teacher who took him beyond the class and shared dreams and moments with them.
Not dreams and moments in its whole sense, but you had the moments and you heard the sound of the opening mind that freezes, chills and then releases completely the scar to greater learnings.
The Bible speaks of we all not trying to be teachers because they have a greater account to render. True, a greater account indeed because they shape our minds, they shape our thoughts, they shape our world.
And nothing ever made greater sense to me , but this.
I realized not long ago that the real task that lies in education apart from impacting knowledge , is to cause the knowledge we are impacting to inspire.
For this to happen , the educator must be very passionate about his field or about the work he is doing , which is at that time, the knowledge he is impacting into his students. Or he is must outerly discplined and principled in his field or work.

Educating an individual, should be about pointing a path to exploration.
In the process of learning we must be able to to teach students to apply principles and once a while go out of our way to ask ,why the principles is , what it is and if its true at all. Are there any loop holes?, what about tiny holes.

Anyone can be anything if only they are given the right kick-start;inspiration.
A little effort applied in the right direction could inspire the next genration of scientist.
Talent is a word that keeps fading for me everyday, there is predeposition in every being yes I believe, but I see that predepostion is utmostly desire

In our want to fulfill the empty, gleaming feeling, we perspire
That in all ages, this has occured, no man was born with any innate ability but desire.
In it lies our ability to be all that we will ever want to be......nothing comes natural but everything is natural.

Inspiration is the seed that will surely grow into talent and talent the seed that will surely grow into greatness.
And I guess we all know the fruits of greatness.
My poetry cannot put enough words together, to shed the right light on this subject and neither can this piece of writing. But I hope all the same you caught my meaning, if a new evolution of students is to be birth , then a new evolution of educators must be born. Educators who know education is not only about impacting knowledge but inspiring students. Educators who understand the minds of their students are tools to be wield to an effective and efficient use.
With this knowing, they can cause their students to develop any interest,then a passion, then a will , and then a talent.
